Daisy wins Best UK Short Film at the London Independent Film Festival
To have the Daisy UK premiere at the London Independent FIlm Festival was truly honour but to find out that we were opening the festival the exact day, one year after we started preproduction, just made it all that more special!!!
It was great to have so many children and families attend who are aware of EB, and it was wonderful to have the children who where in the film up during the Q&A to talk about the film and their experience on set.
As you all know we have been filming the documentary Maisy and the Making of Daisy since we embarked on this adventure and it was so great to have the documentary team at the awards gala to film the last scene of the documentary.
Our goal from the start for the documentary was to hopefully have Maisy pick up an award, and guess what, she did, and what a fabulous award to win!!! BEST UK SHORT!!!!
There were a few awards before they announced ours. It was hard sitting there with the team waiting and wondering if and what we won. But when we got to the end and they called out Daisy as the Best UK Short we were all speechless and so proud to watch Daisy get up to receive this special award.
To have Maisy and her Super Mum Amy attend was a moment that I will cherish for the rest of my life : ) I hope that I can be as good of a mum as Amy is!!! A true gem and powerhouse!!!
We did it!!! BEST UK SHORT!!! Well done to the entire Daisy Team!!!! It took me six years to make this film and ever second of it was worth it, but my proudest moment was seeing Maisy pick up this award!!!
She was the reason I wrote this film 6 years ago and she was the only one that deserved to pick it up!!! Well done Maisy!!! You are a true star and inspiration!!!
